Sureni Weerasekera is a Sri Lankan-born, San Diego-raised, & New York-based stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. She was recently announced as a performer on 2024 Netflix is a Joke “Introducing…” showcase. She is known for her lighthearted, conversational banter to her ruthless, dark jabs. She has performed at New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, Desi Comedy Festival, Oakland Comedy Festival, and Silicon Valley Pride Festival. She recently opened for Hari Kondabolu, Irene Tu, and Ashley Gavin. She has been featured on Amazon Prime and HBO. Sureni was recently featured on Don’t Tell Comedy. With an aptitude for writing, Sureni was awarded the 2019 Diversity in Comedy Writing Fellowship at Killing My Lobster SF. She is the creator of “Medium Roasts,” a mini-video series about the cafe world, whom she wrote, edited and acted in. She runs a monthly show called Earth Tones at Union Hall in Brooklyn, NY featuring QTBIPOC comics.

This includes any combination of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. *All General Admission seating is first come first serve, therefore we cannot guarantee seating together. Groups need to be particularly aware of this. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes to an hour prior to show time for better seat selection. *Doors close 30 minutes after showtime. *Tickets are available at the door UNLESS tickets have sold out. *Guests must be 18+for entry. Those under the age of 21 will be given wristbands to wear. *ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS. If you cannot make it, we will issue you a show credit to one of our upcoming events. *Management reserves the right to prevent customers from entering the facility who they deem disruptive or dangerous to other patrons.
